Deployment Enablers will be of vital importance and considered a key feature during the execution and future uptake of the project results. The work package has following main objectives:

The work in 2015 will focus on developing Cost-Benefits Analysis and addressing all the identified barriers towards the sustainable after-project life of the piloted services.

The purpose of this document is to explore and analyse the business viability of the Compass4D piloted services. It defines the state of the market and studies the stakeholders involved in the deployment and management of the infrastructure and services. Aspects such as time to market and commercial risks are taken into account.

This document presents an analysis of the identified deployment barriers, the proposed solutions to overcome them as well as the derived deployment opportunities. These solutions and opportunities are translated into implementation guidelines to the project’s external parties who would like to implement one of the piloted services or the entire Compass4D scheme in their city or on their vehicles.

To alleviate the problems caused by urban transportation, and especially motorized urban transportation, public and private stakeholders have cooperated in the Compass4D project to assist cities in creating a better traffic situation for their citizens and visitors. In this context, the overarching aims of Compass4D were to:
o Substantially improve road safety
o Increase energy efficiency and reduce road traffic emissions
o Reduce level of congestions and noise pollution
o Limit the effects of traffic on emergency vehicles responding to a call

This report puts forward the activities set up to engage external cities including European and BRICS cities during the Compass4D project. Such activities include: disseminating Compass4D results, sharing Compass4D experiences from pilot site cities, as well as understanding cities’ needs for implementation. Such results provide a foundation for a wider uptake of C-ITS in Europe and worldwide. This report also provides a resource for other projects to learn what level of C-ITS information exists in various cities and what are the expectations of cities, as well as how to engage external cities in terms of promoting C-ITS and other advanced transport technologies.

The objectives of the deliverable is to report on Compass4D activities on analysis and definition of certification needs for cooperative ITS in the context of smart cities. The cooperative ITS certification aims at deploying interoperable C-ITS solutions in all cities and providing the required level of functional and operational performances. The document will therefore report on how to assess the level of interoperability and performances of C-ITS devices.
