Compass4D at the ITS European Congress - Helsinki


 

 

With over 50 people in attendance, the Compass4D stakeholders meeting looked at the outstanding contributions of the two European projects Compass4D and CO-GISTICS in the deployment of cooperative ITS (C-ITS) in cities and logistics hubs.

 

Speakers from both projects gave short presentations. They presented the actual hardware, roads and equipped vehicles used for these two projects. The presentations and the interactive discussion with the audience were very much focused on practical issues related to C-ITS deployment, including measurement of financial benefits and involvement of users.

SIS28 - Opening the market to C-ITS through the deployment in cities

 

Compass4D coordinator, Pierpaolo Tona, organised a special session on Wednesday, 18 June. The session looked into current implementation initiatives and mass-deployment from the point of view of the end-users and public authorities, considering also the latest input from hardware and service providers.

 

Speakers presented examples to concretely achieve viable and economically sustainable solutions towards the objective “C-ITS available to all citizens”. In line with the International cooperation activities of Compass4D, the SIS28 included a speaker from the US Department of Transport, who presented the current C-ITS deployment initiatives in the US.

 

SIS28 was very well and was attended by more than 50 conference delegates.
