Compass4D at the DRIVE C2X major event in Sweden

On 13 and 14 June, the European project DRIVE C2X hosted its last major demo event "Making cooperative systems cooperate" in the Lindholmen Science Park in Gothenburg, Sweden. Visitors gained hands-on experience of the DRIVE C2X functions in a running Field Operation Test (FOT) having the unique opportunity to drive cars equipped with the DRIVE C2X system that provides warning and information based on car-to-infrastructure (C2I) and car-to-car (C2C) communications.

15 demo cars (including latest models of Volvo, Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Peugeot, and FIAT) were available from five different test sites: Brennero (Italy), Gothenburg (Sweden), Tampere (Finland), Frankfurt (Germany), Yvelines (France). Participants drove those cars on a route equipped with Roadside ITS Station and witnessed five different Cooperative functions: Car Breakdown Warning (CBW); Road Works Warning (RWW); In-Vehicle Signage (IVS); Green Light Optimised Speed Advisory (GLOSA); and Weather Warning (WW).

The European projects Compass4D, COSMO, FOTsis, FOTNet, eCoMove showed their activities in the field of Cooperative Systems in the exhibition area.
